The Ƶ Museum of Natural History on the Pocatello campus of Ƶ is announcing its fall lineup of classes and activities beginning Oct. 27 for children from preschool to fifth grade.

A new program in the museum is the Natural History Story Hour, where children can listen to a story and participate in follow-up activities. The first story hour will be on Oct. 27 at 2 p.m. and will feature the book “The Sea That Feeds Us.” A second story hour will be on Nov. 17 at 2 p.m. and will feature the book “Mountain Dance.” Both activities are free, but space is limited so preregistration is required.

The museum’s Pint-Sized Science Academy will offer hands-on science exploration for children ages 4 to 6. Classes will include “Prehistoric Food Preparation: You Found It, You Fix It!” on Oct. 29; “Prehistoric Games: Not All Fun and Play?” on Nov. 5; and “Nature’s Like a Box of Crayons” on Nov. 12. Each class runs from 4 to 5 p.m. Tuition is $15 per child per class.

The Natural History Academy, which offers fun and exciting learning experiences for young scientists, is also presenting two classes this fall. “Creativity–Science–Art” will be held Nov. 6 from 4 to 6 p.m. for students in third to fifth grades. “Slime and the Scientific Method” will be held Nov. 8 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. and is for students in second and third grades. Tuition is $15 per child per class.

Class registration is taken in person at the museum or by e-mail on a first-come, first-served basis.
