蜜桃视频 assistant professor of Spanish Dr. Cathleen Tarp will present the research colloquium 鈥淔rom 1495 鈥 1556: Flores Times Five鈥 at noon Feb. 7 in the Clearwater Room of the Pond Student Union Building. Tarp鈥檚 presentation is part of an ISU Retrospective of Research Colloquia series that will showcase the work done by ISU faculty using internal research grants from the ISU Office of Research.

Each year the Office of Research awards more than $200,000 Faculty Research Committee, Humanities and Social Sciences Research Committee, and University Research Committee awards to faculty for research projects.

Tarp鈥檚 presentation focuses on Juan de Flores鈥檚 鈥1495 Spanish Grisel y Mirabella鈥  as it survives in the anonymous, four language 鈥 Spanish, French, English, and Italian 鈥 1556 Antwerp translation,  鈥淎urelio et Isabelle.鈥 A comparison of the texts reveals that the translation had a profound impact upon the text with respect to its theme, narrative structure, and development of its characters.
