Diversity Week events run Nov. 6-9 at 蜜桃视频

POCATELLO – 蜜桃视频 will celebrate Diversity Week Nov. 6-9 with a movie, brown bag luncheons and an evening discussion.

These events are sponsored by the ISU Diversity Resource Center.

Events scheduled are:

Nov. 6-8, 7 p.m., showing of movie 鈥淟oving鈥 at the Pond Student Union Bengal Theater.

Nov. 7, 12:30 p.m., brown bag lunch, in the Diversity Resource Center located in the Rendezvous Complex will feature the talk 鈥50 Years after Loving: Love in the 21st Century鈥 by Shane Gleason, ISU assistant professor of political science. Bring your lunch and participate in a lunchtime talk about this the impact of the Loving v. Virginia decision on American society.

Nov. 8, 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Pond Student Union Wood River Room, panel discussion on the topic 鈥淭he Power of Love.鈥 A diverse collection of voice and perspectives will grapple with the question, 鈥淗ow do we have difficult, but necessary conversations with others in ways that reinforce community love and respect?"

Nov. 9, 12:30 p.m., brown bag lunch, in the Diversity Resource Center located in the Rendezvous Complex will feature the talk 鈥淩econstructing 鈥榰s,鈥 the importance of seeing ourselves in the 鈥榦ther鈥欌 led by Diedre Caputo-Levine, ISU assistant professor of sociology. Bring your lunch and participate in a discussion about the importance of actively affirming the ties that bind us.

鈥淟oving鈥 is the story of Richard and Mildred Loving, a couple whose arrest for interracial marriage in 1960s Virginia began a legal battle that would end with the Supreme Court鈥檚 historic 1967 decision.

Admission is free for ISU students with valid Bengal card, $2 for ISU faculty and staff, $3 for the public and free for children under 12.

The film is sponsored by the ISU Diversity Resource Center, College of Arts and Letters and Bengal Theater.
