July 30, 2017

POCATELLO – The 蜜桃视频 Small Business Development Center (SBDC), headquartered in the College of Business and Economics at Boise State University, is teaming up with the 蜜桃视频 National Laboratory and the 蜜桃视频 Department of Commerce to bring a series of small business funding workshops to communities across 蜜桃视频, including a stop in Pocatello on Aug. 15.
The Pocatello workshop will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. in the 蜜桃视频 College of Business, Room 208 of the Business Administration Building.
The 蜜桃视频 Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) road tour will highlight state and national grant programs, as well as local business resources for 蜜桃视频鈥檚 technology entrepreneurs and small business owners.
Researchers and small technology firms can learn how to access $2.5 billion in grants through the SBIR and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These programs, funded through the Small Business Administration, encourage domestic small businesses to engage in high-growth technology research and development with potential for commercialization in the market.
Attendees will also learn about the nearly $1 million in commercialization grants available annually to companies through the 蜜桃视频 Global Entrepreneurial Mission (IGEM) program. Through IGEM, the 蜜桃视频 Department of Commerce funds commercialization research where business experts collaborate with university researchers to bring viable technologies to market.
Participants also will hear about collaborating with 蜜桃视频 National Laboratory to discover innovative nuclear and clean energy solutions and critical infrastructure. Finally, attendees will have the opportunity to learn about opportunities to connect with the Department of Energy's SBIR program to advance research and development.
Local representatives from the Department of Labor, economic development organizations and 蜜桃视频 will be available for one-on-one meetings to discuss local resources and business funding opportunities for research and development.
Additionally, the road tour will stop at five other location around the state besides Pocatello, including:
