Admissions & Recruitment September Update

October 10, 2024

With all the construction on campus, it’s easy to overlook all the new incoming Bengals. Overall undergraduate enrollment is up again, continuing the momentum from last year, and Admissions is excited to welcome all these new Bengals to ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ!

To continue the excitement, the Admissions Recruitment team kicked off September by participating in IACRAO Counselor Days, where we updated counselors across the state about what to expect from ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ State this year. We also hosted the Eastern ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Hispanic Youth Leadership Summit (HYLS), where 535 7th - 12th graders participated in STEM breakout sessions, enhanced their leadership skills, and attended a college fair. To cap off the event, 91 students were interviewed for twelve $1,000 scholarships, which is always exciting.

Additionally, our team attended 33 college fairs, visited 50 high schools, and hosted 30 individual campus visits and 6 group tours in September. With over 102,000 emails, 22,000 texts, and 10,000 print mail out to prospective students, we aim to increase awareness of ISU and our programs through events and visits. Starting in September and continuing through October, our ISU Admissions Coordinators will be traveling throughout the west to Alaska, Colorado, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ to speak to students about their future at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ.

With the Southeast ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ College Fair, Health Science Experience Night - Meridian, ISU Counselor Day, and our new event, Experience the Roar, in October, there will be more opportunities to showcase ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ.
