Dr. Cree was selected from a distinguished group of other nominees for his 50 years as a family physician, 20 years practicing full scope family medicine, including obstetrics in ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ, and his outstanding commitment to medical education serving for 10 years as the program director of the ISU Family Medicine Residency program, where he is still an active faculty member.

In his nomination letter, Dr. Brandon Mickelsen, director of the residency program explained, "I can think of very few physicians who have impacted the patients in ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ more than Jonathan Cree. There are well over 100 physicians that are former residents at ISU wherein he played a major role in teaching. That means 25,000 - 75,000 patients in ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ every year are being cared for by physicians that Dr. Cree helped teach and train."

The IAFP will present Dr. Cree with the award during their Annual Conference on May 10 in Ketchum.

Also at the conference, the IAFP will recognize Dr. Neil Ragan as the Physician Advocate of the Year. Dr. Ragan, who practices in Pocatello and is on the faculty of the ISU Family Medicine Residency, was selected for his outstanding advocacy on behalf of his patients seeking gender-affirming care. Not only has Dr. Ragan been a key leader in advocating for access to evidence-based care for transgender ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵans, he has been instrumental to ensuring infrastructure exists for patients to receive this care.
