ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ School of Nursing Announces New Simulation Center
August 25, 2025
ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ is opening a new, state-of-the-art simulation center to benefit both nursing and dental students, thanks to statewide and local partnerships.
In partnership with the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ Workforce Development Council, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ secured a grant that includes advanced simulators and recording systems for the center. Additionally, Portneuf Health Trust invested more than $1 million to help create the center.
"Portneuf Health Trust is proud to support ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s School of Nursing with this innovative simulation center. By investing in state-of-the-art training environments, we’re not only strengthening the education of future nurses and healthcare professionals, but also helping address the critical workforce needs in our community and across ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. This collaboration demonstrates how strong partnerships can improve education today and create healthier communities for generations to come.” said Shaun Menchaca, President & CEO, Portneuf Health Trust.
The grant has also fostered collaboration with Coeur d’Alene’s Kootenai Health and Twin Falls’ St. Luke’s Health System. This initiative has significantly expanded admission capacity in ISU’s School of Nursing, helping to address ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ’s critical nursing workforce needs.
To celebrate this milestone and honor the partnerships that made it possible, all are invited to a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on September 8 at 5 p.m. at the ISU Simulation Center, located at 500 S. 11th Avenue, Suite 410, Pocatello. RSVP by Aug. 29.
