Invitation to Participate in Indigenous Peoples Day Oct. 13
August 18, 2025
Greetings ISU Faculty, Staff, Students, and Alumni,
We are excited to invite you to join us for Indigenous Peoples Day on Monday, October 13, 2025. This year’s theme, "Indigenous Joy: Celebrating Strength & Resilience," offers an important opportunity to honor the rich cultures, histories, and contributions of Indigenous peoples, with a focus on the strength and resilience that have guided these communities through generations.
The day will kick off with a Sunrise Ceremony, followed by presentations throughout the day showcasing the vibrancy of Indigenous cultures. We will also have local entertainment and dance performances, providing a lively and engaging atmosphere for everyone to enjoy.
We encourage you to participate and support local arts and crafts vendors and food vendors throughout the day, as they bring their unique traditions and offerings to the ISU community. In the evening, please join us for the Fashion Show in the Student Union Building, where we will showcase traditional and contemporary Indigenous fashion.
Your presence will help us make this a truly vibrant celebration. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together, reflect on the enduring impact of Indigenous communities and cultures. Stay tuned for additional details, and I look forward to seeing you all there!
