July 10, 2025
The L.S. Skaggs College of Pharmacy is saddened to share the news of the passing of Dr. Kerry Casperson, emeritus professor of pharmacy administration and a cherished member of the college community.
Dr. Casperson served the College of Pharmacy with distinction in a variety of roles over many years. His contributions were foundational in numerous areas—from helping establish the joint PharmD/MBA program in collaboration with the College of Business, to mentoring students in pharmacy ownership through the NCPA Business Plan Competition, to playing a major role in the creation of Bengal Pharmacy and expanding pharmacy access to underserved rural communities.
Long before joining our faculty, Dr. Casperson was instrumental in building bridges between the college and local clinics to provide clinical pharmacy services. He was a passionate advocate for students, a champion of innovation in pharmacy practice, and someone who brought thoughtful, steady leadership to every endeavor he undertook.
In addition to his professional work, Casperson gave generously of his time to ISU as a longtime scorekeeper and timekeeper for Bengal athletics and through service on the board of the ISU Credit Union. He remained deeply connected to the university and its mission throughout his career and beyond.
We are grateful for Dr. Casperson’s legacy, his service, and the many lives he touched. Please join us in keeping his family, friends, and former colleagues in your thoughts.
